Mori had no idea what he was doing. This floor of the casino he found himself in was dark, and dust was prevalent in even the most obscenely hard to reach cracks in the walls. He was sitting, kicking his feet along the floor in the char he was in, waiting for a man to enter. Armed vegetan guards stood watch at both of the doors, but they weren't what Mori was worried about. The man the majin killed at the casino... was this going to be his punishment? He did so hate being punished... he was just defending himself! The childish mind of this majin couldn't even begin to comprehend the hidden machinations of what would become known to him as the Lucky Marauders.
The man's silhouette showed through the door's dusty glass before he opened it and walked inside. A rather large saiyan male wearing a white tuxedo with gold lining, a purple flamboyant hat, and a cane with an 8 ball on the clutch. Mori was impressed with this man, such a show of success would mean this vegetan was very wealthy indeed. Was he the owner of this casino? Unbeknownst to the majin, he stopped kicking his feet around. Perhaps for the first time in his life, he was at full attention.
The man nodded at the majin before sitting down at the other side of the table, which was made of a fine mahogany wood. The vegetan stuck his hand out to Mori, and grinned, revealing golden teeth. "Good job on taking out Tomat, he was causing trouble around my casino for quite a while. I'm known around here as Steamtrain Broc. And welcome to my casino." The upbeat music playing below Mori's feet caught the majin's attention again. Broc must have noticed, for he snapped with his other hand.
Shaking his head once, Mori took the man's hand, before exclaiming, "Yes, he tried to hurt me. He didn't like me, I don't think..." This whole business confused him, was Broc trying to punish him or not?
"Worry not, I don't mean to harm you, I actually have a job for you. I have a thermos of coffee here," Broc waved a hand towards one of the armed guards, who walked up to him and handed him a container that swished with liquid. "One of my friends, named Thomas, is having trouble sleeping, and I fear for him. All I need you to do is deliver it to him. His friends don't like me, so I can't give it to him on my own. I'll be willing to shell out some money to you in return for this. Do we have a deal?"
Taking the coffee in front of him, Mori stood up and bowed. "I'll do it at once, Broc!" Giggling to himself, Mori ran out of the room, accidentally pushing aside a few of the guards along the way. He was gone, but the guard exclaimed loudly.
"Calm down, my friend," Broc said, dusting off a bit of lint on his suit. "He doesn't know any better. He's immensely powerful, but with the heart and mind of a child. We need to take advantage of that as often as possible, before he grows wise to the workings of our organization."
Mori, thermos in hand, was running as fast as his rubbery legs would let him. That poor guy! Mori doesn't need sleep, but from what he's heard about it, it's important! This coffee should do the trick, without a doubt! Mori smelled some of it on the way, and it smelled like nothing he's ever sniffed before. Obviously Broc cared about his friend a bunch, he trusted such a careful task to the majin. What a good man, that Broc. He didn't even punish him for killing Tomat, how fun! Mori's grin broke into a full blown smile, teeth and all. This was shaping up to be a really fun week!
The majin's trek ended him up at a shady looking hotel known as 'Novac,' as shown by the old, dusty sign that was outside of the building. Some of the letters were faded, but that probably didn't matter much. Walking up to the receptionist, Mori spoke. "Hello, I'm looking for a man named Thomas? I was supposed to deliver this coffee to him?" The man on the other side of the counter looked surprised, before pulling a gun on the pink man.
"I don't know how you heard about Thomas being holed up here, little guy, but you'd better leave back the way you came. I'm not afraid to use this." The gun gleamed in the sunlight, and honestly scared Mori. I don't know how those work... do they hurt? Idiot! They obviously do if this man wants to hurt you with it! Best option? Deliver coffee, no matter the cost.
Mori grinned one of his innocent smiles, before saying, "I'm sorry for this, but Thomas' friend really wants him feeling better. I don't want to hurt you, but I will if I need to. Thomas just needs his sleep!" That seemed to disconcert the guard, who answered by pulling the trigger aimed straight at Mori's face. The gun shot, the bullet flew out of the barrel, and Mori was afraid. He closed his eyes, waiting to be reduced to a pile of mush, but no such thing happened. A tiny pod of metal shot out, hit Mori square between the eyes, and ripped out the other side. The man grinned with his teeth, but it quickly died as Mori began to laugh, a childish laugh, innocent and full of joy.
"You can't hurt me, wow!" Mori exclaimed as he flew into the air, arms extended outward. The guard's mouth opened wide as he started shouting for help, but Mori didn't hear him or care to hear him. This man was clearly just an obstacle, and didn't mean much to Thomas or Broc. Obviously, the best thing to do to this poor soul was to show him the light. His attacks didn't kill anyone anyway, not really. All they did was take them out of this place and put them into a better place, and that was enough for Mori. This man looked sad, at any rate.
Opening his mouth wide, a pink blast of pure light enveloped the man at the counter, and after a second, nothing was left there, not even the chair the vegetan was sitting on. Turning his head to Novac, he saw nearly every window open, with guns revealed on the other side, aimed straight at the majin. Voices rang out over the intercom, stating to leave or face certain death. A shot of fear ran through Mori's body but was quickly dissipated as he realized, after all, they were only guns. Smirking, Mori lifted a finger and focused on the proximity of the area.
This was such a big building, how was he supposed to find Thomas anyway? As he gathered his energy, he reasoned that if there was no building, it would be easier to find Thomas and deliver the coffee. The energy in his body Climaxed, and Mori unleashed it on the building below him. The area was suddenly overtaken in a circle of pink energy, and Mori grinned as he watched the construction crumble, the support beams sway, and the life inside just eradicate. The pink orb around the area finally dissipated, revealing nothing inside except scorch marks. Which proved problematic.
Mori slowly descended to the ground, and began to look around. Where was Thomas? Nervous, Mori put the coffee Thermos on the ground in the middle of the nothing that used to be Novac, and flew away, back towards the lucky 8. How was he going to explain this one to Broc? The thermos was delivered, and Mori supposed that was the most important thing.
Back at the casino, Mori found Broc overseeing the gambling section of his building, making sure there was no funny business. When he saw the majin, he motioned for Mori to follow him, which he did wordlessly. When they arrived at the room the meeting was at previously, Mori retold the events with a trembling voice, fully expecting Broc to yell at him as soon as he was finished. Surprisingly, the leader of the Lucky Marauders only began to clap slowly, a wide smile on his face. "Not only did you assure that Thomas began to sleep as soundly as possible, you also got rid of all of the bad guys that surrounded him? Very well done, my young friend."
Mori smiled an innocent smile, happy to have done well. He shook Broc's hand again, and was assured that the money will be wired into a bank account just for him. Mori wasn't too sure what that all meant, but he liked the idea of carrying a plastic rectangle on his body instead of the jingly coins he was used to. Walking upstairs another flight to the room Broc graciously gave Mori to sleep in, he laid on his bed to relax. This was a nice place, after all. He didn't even kill one person today.
(all done! Zeni, please.)
