Those of you who read this, I would like to introduce to you the Hell Squad: A government organization registered as a secret, covert fighting force to handle things regarding the Realm of Demons, or Makaioshin, if you will. The organization is one that had started 100 years prior to the current timeline, upon the discovery of the gate to the Demon Realm. After much deliberation, the government sanctioned an organization of powerful and knowledgeable people in the arts of magic and science to handle anything in regards to Demons or anything mystical. They are stationed in the mountains that surround North City, in one of the many secret caves that are embedded in the mountainside. The organization is led by five individuals, four of which represent a specific branch while one makes the final decisions. Keep in mind, though, that even though they are of such high rank, these individuals will tend to missions themselves personally if they see fit. Allow me to introduce, to you, the five.
The four branches of Hell Squad: The Horsemen
These four particular individuals handle the following branches and are given specific horseman titles, to identify the heads:
1) War: Handles recruitment and training of all kinds. War directs where men and women should work in the Hell Squad, after discovering and conversing with possible candidates. After that, they are trained in whatever way that would benefit their skills. The head of this branch is a big, burly man with dark skin and plenty of scars from battles known and unknown within the past thirty years. He is known as Relic Felsworth. Despite his old age, Relic is one of the strongest humans that anyone has ever come across, as well as one of the most wise and angry. He personally trains individuals that have high potential, but require the hardest breaking. His last recorded power level was at 35,000. In the given state of the organization, Relic has taken it upon himself to search for recruits in North City, as well as watch over it and the main base of operations.
2) Famine: Handles the organization's historical and magical components. These people are among the more diverse groups in the organization, for magic comes in all shapes and forms. The head of the branch is a reported kaioshin called Helena Belmont. Famine, despite its appearance, is just as deadly as the others. While not physically powerful, Helena is a practical master in the arts of magic. In the organization, she is the only founding member of the organization to keep her title for the past 100 years. As old as she is, due to her magic, she appears to be a woman only in her thirties. Her last recorded power level was at 34,000; though some speculate that it is much higher, even trumping the current leader's power level.
3) Pestilence: When you need a bomb that can disrupt a person's nerves, you come to the Pestilence branch in the organization. When you need to have three of your limbs reattached, they are not only reattached, but they are also enhanced! Pestilence is the branch of science, medicine, and experimentation. Pestilence supplies the organization with high levels of technology and medicine to help keep the enemies, demon or otherwise, in check and the soldiers on par. It's head by one of the smartest men of the new generation: Vincent Deidra. For many generations, since the release of Gohan's book, the police have tried and tried again and again to create a device to restrict ki flow in fleeing criminals of high power level. In the 1900s, they finally discovered the technology from the Acrosians. However, they hadn't created perfect power restricting technology yet, but were on the brink. For the next 175 years, the technology would help catch targets that have reached a maximum of 20,000 power level. However, when Vincent looked at it, he made the machine perfect for this day and age! His ingenious design, now used to this day, enabled the police to capture targets of five times the level! However, the design would only be used in case such a person would show up... Perhaps it would show soon? Being a scientist, his last recorded power level was said to be at a mere 500. While not the best combatant, Vincent was head of the Pestilence branch for his brain, as was with all leaders of Pestilence.
4) Death: When a job needs to be done, Death handles it, whether dirty or clean. Death handles missions and target elimination. Members who join this branch are expected to do great things in the Hell Squad! Led by a surprising individual named Ivan Gensworth IV. The reason for him being surprising was because he was among the very thing that the organization defended against: Makaioshin. Demons. Ivan was, originally, a regular demon, but when he was cast out of the Demon Realm, he sought to exact his revenge on his kin! That was when the Hell Squad came into picture. The previous leader, fifty years before the present, had passed away due to a heart condition and the position needed to be filled. Ivan had repeatedly exchanged between the Hell Squad, trying to lead his own squad of men out. However, he was usually repelled by the Famine branch. Ironically, it was the leader herself who came up and asked him to lead the Death branch, with the current Hell Squad head at the time. She knew his pain and knew, deep down, that he wanted to seek redemption for the heinous crimes he did since his fall. Despite his hate for Helena, Ivan took the job and, since then, has repeatedly repelled his own kind with the Hell Squad and even come to respect Helena. His last recorded power level was at a maximum of 70,000. The reason for his casting out is unclear. Some say he wanted to rule as King himself, while others say that he was bored and started something that got on the King's nerves. Regardless, he now fights the waves trying to escape HFIL.
Finally, we have the head of the Hell Squad. Those who become leader of the squad are known to be powerful, kind, but suppressing and dangerous. Leaders of the organization, only 2 being recorded since the organization's creation, have also been known for one thing: Being able to go through HFIL to the very Demon King himself and laugh at his face, then come back, alive! Those who managed to this have achieved respect by all members in the organization, as well as the Horsemen. Those who achieve this are called "Demon King".
Demon King: Head of the Hell Squad who've personally met and fought with the real Demon King. These two individuals are known for being even more powerful than the Death Branch's past leaders, as mighty as War's leaders, as witty as Pestilence's leaders, and as mystical as Famine's. Why these two men were like this, no one but Helena and Ivan know. Some say that they were gods given human bodies, while others believe them to be offspring of the Demon King himself... At least, the old King. However, it was found out that the two were actually as human as you and I. The leader and one of the founders of the organization, named Karl Alexandria II, was a General of the Earth government's forces that was known to always be training with the men, as well as working with the gravity machines to keep on his edge. When they first found one of the entrances to the Demon Realm, Karl volunteered himself to watch over the organization, but he would need to gather people that were knowledgeable in the area of thought. The King, for a while, thought it was nothing, but the thought kept creeping back into his head about demons ravaging the world, which caused him to permit the action. Karl went around to collect members, first seeking someone well versed in the spiritual and magical. However, he couldn't find a single person that he felt was worth working with and was about to give up on the organization. However, when he was travelling far out in the western deserts, he came across Helena, whom he believed to be an average woman with a mystical sort of presence. He would later find out, after the organization's creation and preparation against a rumored assault from the Demon Realm, that she was a Kaioshin. In truth, had Helena not revealed herself to him, the Hell Squad wouldn't exist.
After the assemblage of the Hell Squad, they made their way to a rumored entrance to the Demon Realm and, when they were all prepared, Karl had ordered the Hell Squad to stay back. They all wondered why, but he would not state the reason. They had learned of Karl's submissive power and all agreed to do so. For days, they waited at the gate, warding off any demons that made their way onto Earth. For days, they saw horrors that no one, human or otherwise, should see nor experience. However, for days, they persisted, waiting for Karl to return. After fifteen days, when the demons would no longer come, but the Hell Squad nearly broken and prepared to leave, Karl came out of the gate. He was beaten and bloodied, but somehow, he managed to come back alive. They say that when Karl walked out of the gate, he came out with a smile and laughter that made their souls freeze over. Even the gate was said to be fearful of the gate, shutting permanently. However, it was not the only gate the demons had to access the Earth. 46 years later, Karl Alexandria II passed away, with only the Hell Squad's Horsemen to only lead. Even in death, the demons feared him, daring not step an inch out of their realm.
Ten years would pass before a new head would be chosen, the current head known as Galvin Petrakov Artog. Galvin had been part of the organization for five years, having been chosen for recruitment into the higher ranks by the current War branch leader. He was broken down, rebuilt, then broken again for those five years and rebuilt, just as the current head of the Death branch was chosen. He was lined up with the other recruits, to be chosen for Death's branch by Ivan. All were great candidates for the Death branch's newest members, but of the ten, only three were chosen, Galvin being among the three. Galvin had wondered why Ivan had chosen him, but Ivan had not told him why. The only thing he said to him was, "Because you are worthy."
Galvin would participate in many missions and trained hard with Ivan and with the leader of War before Relic. At the time, Galvin had reached a high point that made even Ivan have to fight at his best. However, Galvin would eventually surpass this point, reaching a point of power that was said to rival Karl's own. However, Galvin had not reached the same level of mysticism that Karl had about him, nor the intellect. While he had power, he had not the direction for it. Galvin would eventually realize this and seek guidance from Helena, delving into the supernatural arts and history. When she was done teaching Galvin, it was then that any who knew Karl or saw him in while he was alive that they saw the first Demon King once more. The current Horsemen agreed and, after ten years of working with the Hell Squad, Galvin had become said leader.
Galvin gave out missions to members of the Hell Squad that involved hunting for the other entrances of the Demon Realm. For about fifteen years, as Relic and Vincent took over as the heads for War and Pestilence, they searched and eventually discovered one of the entrances, when a squad had not returned from the search. Having discovered the entrance, he planned to have this gate be sealed, just as the desert gate had been. However, the new and current leader of the Earth's government felt that their services were needed elsewhere. At this point, Galvin had also become a father to a single son, who lived in North City. Feeling the father's need to care for his own child, Galvin would oblige to only some of the demands of the King, now including missions to seek out high powered targets and take them down by any means necessary. However, the area where the squad went missing needed investigating, so Galvin took the entire Death branch with him while he gave the other branches work to handle.
In the Yunzabit Heights, far to the north, they went. They searched for days, developing thoughts that the squad had simply got lost and succumbed to weather. However, when they were going to head back home, Ivan felt something that he had not felt in years: The energy of the Demon Realm. Using him as a detector, they sped through the frozen lands to the mountain's base. There, in a cave, Ivan felt the energy. The energy was relishing to him, while to the others, except Galvin, it stunk of filth and death. Upon searching the area, they discovered the torn carcasses of what had once been the squad. Their information confirmed, the Death Squad believed it was imperative to report the appearance of another gate, but before the message could be sent, the cries of demons breaking to the surface haunted the hears of the squad.
Galvin charged in, power at its fullest, as he charged into the black cavern, alone. Ivan and the others chased after to assist him. However, for a small while, they could not find a single demon, nor Galvin. Distant screams of pain shuck the cavern as they traveled it. The Death branch continued, killing off any demons that tried to get by. As they traveled along, they noticed the cavern was covered in the blood of the demons, eventually reaching a shining red gate of swirling energy, with Galvin standing in front of it. The Death Squad wished for him to fall back, but a cold laughter shot from Galvin, before being told to wait outside the gate for him. Before they could respond, he rushed into the gate. History began to repeat itself once more.
For days, they waited once more, reinforcements arriving from the War branch. It was stranger this time around to Ivan, the demon. In the past, the Makaioshin at least made their way around Galvin and through the gate, but it seemed that not a single demon crept out, as if they were all being warded off by something. Eventually, on the twelfth day, Galvin walked out. He, just like Karl, was beaten and bloody. However, here he stood, just like the original Demon King. Ivan recalled the battle between Karl and the Demon King in the past, the battle tearing apart the landscape in HFIL, after Karl had literally laughed in the King's face. The same, triumphant expression was on Galvin's face as well. However, unlike Karl, Galvin had carried out a wounded demon. He ordered him to tell them what happened, so that he could return to his ruined kingdom.
"He, y-you, marched right to our K-King, pushing the rest of us aside like f-fodder, then laughed at his face before p-proceeding to smash him through his throne! The two of you engaged in a fight, much like the last he was in and, eventually, crushed him! You couldn't possibly be-"
"But I am... That's all, pest. Be gone," he interrupted, tossing the demon back through the gate. After that, they left the cave and sealed it shut. From then on, Galvin was truly reveled as the 'Demon King,' just like Karl.
From then on, their priorities shifted more from the supernatural elements to the natural elements in their world. However, they continued surveillance of the demon realm whenever they could. Despite this, though, they had not been able to figure out that, after the fight and his disgrace, the weakened Demon King had been eliminated and replaced by a young Makaioshin known as Zhaiyu. Galvin's last recorded power level, before this exchange, was at 120,000. However, it is possible that he is even stronger than that, even in his old age of 62.
Recently, in the present, Galvin has been forced to stay at Central City due to the attacks by the Red Pants Army, which has left the Hell Squad in a state of distress, though the Horsemen have taken lead as they did when Karl passed away.
For those of you who are interested in ANY of these five roles, let me know via pm. These characters are to be approved firstly by the other staff.
After these are approved, for those who pm me for WANT in the roles, I will give you details on their history, what they're like, what the look like and so forth. Once these roles are taken, I will be posting up who has been taken and who hasn't.
