The last raid against the elite soldiers in the city had proved to have some interesting spoils, with them getting their hands on a scouter. Granted it had been damaged, but it wasn’t destroyed and that would be something that gave Yuumaru and his rebels something of an advantage. Taking it into his workshop he immediately began to look over the systems to see what kind of damage was done to it. Plus maybe he could rework the systems a bit for something far more useful to the cause than just a simple power level reader. That would be an advantage that he couldn’t pass up, especially if it worked like he planned it to, but that would have to be seen once it was repaired.
Opening it up, he noticed right away that the wires were burnt, probably due to a surge of power through the device. Thankfully, it hadn’t outright blown the thing up and he could study it firsthand like this. Grabbing a few spare wires from a box, he went to replacing them so that the power could flow easily when he got it back into working order. Looking over the circuits there were a few that had been damage, likely the ones that controlled the scanning system for the scouter. Examining things a bit closer, he looked through the circuits for the one thing that he needed to find if he really wanted this to pay off. With having spent his time repairing things with his old man, it didn’t take him too long to find what he was looking for and he had to laugh.
The part for communication was still intact and seemed like it could work as soon as everything else was working again. That just meant that he needed to make a couple of adjustments to this thing and they would be ready to utilize it for their cause. Getting to work, he followed the different circuits to see what all functions this little device had before it was turned back on. No point in turning it on just to find out that it worked against them as well, he was smarter than that, he didn’t know if the same could be said for the elite now. Smirking slightly, he found a part that was setup to give out the location, but that was not going to happen with this one. Using a soldering iron, he worked it so that the systems would still work while bypassing that little chip to give the location. The next thing was to disable the part that allowed whoever to wear it to talk to others; they weren’t going to be a microphone just yet. It wasn’t a complete bypass; instead he was putting what essentially came out as a mute button on his device.
Once that was done it was time to start working on the repairs to this thing, getting out all of the equipment he would need, he began to examine the damage. It wasn’t too extensive luckily, just an overload that seemed to disrupt the electronics. Rummaging through a box that was next to him, he looked through until he could find a replacement part for what had gotten shorted out. He added in a better capacitor to prevent it from having a blow back if it detected a really powerful energy signature. It wouldn’t really be used for that too much, maybe as an early warning system if someone had gotten too close to the base it could alert them. Besides that there wouldn’t be a need to detect power levels, and they could just use it for the most important function it carried right now.
With the repairs completed, it seemed that it was time to give the device a test, but he couldn’t use the limited range it had. So instead, he took it towards the area where there was a radio and used his soldering iron to attach the antenna to increase the range considerably. Looking it over, he hoped that there wasn’t anything he was forgetting to check on it, but from what he knew of the devices everything was secure now. Turning it on, it crackled to life with voices on the other end already, which was definitely a good sign that things were starting to work out a bit more. Increasing the volume, he listened to a bit of the feed that he was getting to make sure that it was the one that he was looking for. A few of the soldiers were talking amongst themselves about nothing too important it seemed, which meant this wasn’t the right frequency he was looking for. Adjusting the controls, he slowly started to turn it until he could find something that would be of more use to the rebellion.
The channels kept switching until he heard something that seemed like it might be a combat situation going on now. A group of his rebels had attacked a squad of Saiyan Elites, and it seemed like they were pushing them back as well. A good thing to note, he had started to train the rebels personally, so that they would each start becoming as strong as he was. It was likely only a matter of time before he met with a similar fate to his old man’s, so the more people that were around his strength to take over his role, the better. Still, he would eventually have to appoint someone as a successor to prevent too much arguing and infighting about the title. Shaking his head, this wasn’t the time to be getting lost in thought as suddenly more voices came over the scouter. It seemed there was a new group of Saiyans that had entered the fray, and were powerful in their own right.
Enough so that they caused the rebels to retreat to prevent loss of the troops, that leader of the squad he sent out was a good leader. The news of this group that was interfering, however, bothered him and it was likely he was going to have to start taking more direct actions. He supposed it was time that he took up the weapon that his old man left to him and let the Elite see just what kind of force they were up against. This news was definitely not good though, a new group of Saiyans entering the fray, he would have to start training his own troops more. That scouter had let him know about something very important; the recovery of it may have just allowed him to turn the tide of the battle. Even if it was only slightly, any turn that let them push closer towards the King and the corrupt government would be good.
Moving a computer next to the scouter, he got to work connecting them up, so that anything that came through the scouter would be recorded. This way someone didn’t need to be writing things down, but he would have someone monitoring it at all times for more information. Knowledge was power and he was going to turn all his knowledge into an indomitable force of nature that swept across the planet. Things were going to change and he was going to be the one to change them, never again was he going to let things become this corrupt. The King was powerless being just a puppet to those politicians of the government, while they continued to hoard money that should have been spread around. It didn’t matter who these new people were, all they did was reignite the full force of the fire that burned in the pit of his stomach. Should he meet them, he was going to show them why the even the Elite were ones that feared his power.
Then again, he was technically an elite himself going by what the old man said, but with the decay of technology the machine in the elite sector was failing more and more. He wondered how many other poor children had been abandoned in the dump like he had been. This is what those fools were fighting for, “I will never let that kind of thinking win. I will make sure things change once and for all on the planet.” There was a lot of work left for him to do still, if he was going to present himself anew the next time he met with the Saiyan Elite. Heading towards his bunk, he opened the chest containing all of his the items that his father had tossed out by the fools of the government, he took out the sword that had been a part of the collection. It was a bastard sword of good sized sword and it would allow him to fight even better against his enemies, he’d been trained to fight in hand to hand, but he was much better with the blade.
Heading back to his sword shop now, he needed to make some adjustments to the sword if he was going to wield it himself. Starting up the forge the heat began to emanate throughout the room, hitting him like a brick with how much the fire was putting out. He got to work putting it through the forging process once more, to recreate the blade a bit differently and to add a bit of something extra to it in the form of his Ki being implanted. With a black finish across the blade, it was finished and ready to be wielded against his enemies with ferocity like they had ever seen before this very day. Now it was time for him to start pushing his training to the limits as well, if this new group wanted to get in his way then he would need all the power he could get.
