Ethar stumbled across a cave after his battle with Blaze, a battle that had not truly concluded due to a major sandstorm. Having to take shelter, he made his way into the cave, but once inside, he don't know why, but he feel an uneasiness. Believing this was because of Blaze, you go charging in, wishing to finish the fight with the Icerian. However, upon entering, instead of finding Blaze, he came across a shrine with a statue that seemingly compelled Ethar to approach it.
As he got closer, he heard a voice call out to him as he moved closer and closer to the statue. Upon touching the statue, He felt all of his strength suddenly leave him, as he went limp, as what seems to be his soul stands over him, watching it become stone just like the statue however the stature of him seemed to be incomplete… Missing parts.. Upon looking back, he saw a demonic looking Namekian, as well as a whole tribe standing behind him. Feeling uneasy, Ethar attempted to use what strength he had to escape, but as he tried to make his escape, a powerful force forced Ethar back into the cave, sealing him in the cave with the strange Namekians. After that, he noticed something new, he looked at he back of his hands, and saw that his entire body had become transparent, almost ghost like. This fact spooked him good as he checked his entire body, and saw that it was in a corporeal form, akin to ghosts.
After getting back to his feet, what seems to be the elder walks up to you, saying “We apologize for luring you here young man, we believed that you could help us escape this wretch prison, but it appears your trapped here with the rest of us.“ as Ethar got back up to his feet. ”And who the hell are you?” He asked, as the eldest one did not answer, as he pointed to the Namekian statue beside the statue of himself. ”If you can break that statue, you can leave this place, since you seem to not be consumed by the spell“ He said, as Ethar looked back to the Namekian statue.
He smirked, as he powered up as best as he could, silver hair flaring up as energy charged in his hands. ”Dragon Flash Wave!” He said, as he unleashed a beam of energy at the statue that roared like its name sake, but much to Ethar’s surprise, the massive attack passed right through the statue and vanished. His attacks were ghost like, like himself. ”Its Impossible for me to break it! What’s the catch?” He asked, looking back to the one who looked like the leader. He merely shrugged, as Ethar grew angry, and tried a large number of his attacks, however they all failed.
”Its all right, the statue will break one day, and we will all be free from this prison. Its only a matter of time…” He replied to Ethar’s question after seeing him try to destroy the statue. They saw that the weapon he wielded glowed softly on him, as if resonating with the spell that bonded them there. It was unknown why it reacted as it did, but it was ignored.
Ethar decided to take a look at the shrine, and hoped that a clue to breaking the spell was able to be found. He saw there were four pedestals that surrounded the Namekian Statue, and his own incomplete statue. Each one resonated with his sword, as each gave off an energy that seemed to feed into the statue, as if powering it. He made a note of the energy coming off of it, as he decided to continue to look around.
He saw the dragon ball he was supposed to deliver to Carnel. He moved over to it, and tried to pick it up, but his hands phased through it, much like his attacks did to the statue. He saw his medium weights on the ground to, and failed to pick them up as well. ”Fuck, I got to fix this before someone comes in here to grab my orb.” He said, as the oldest of the odd Namekians walked over to Ethar.
”I’m sorry, you will just have to wait until something comes along to free us.” He said, as Ethar sighed. He hoped it wouldn’t be too long before someone came along to help him. ”If only I could get a message to Carnel…” He said, as Ethar started to study the shrine again. He found inscriptions that were too weathered to read, and saw the cave went deeper. But upon exploring, He saw that it was empty, save a pool of water in the very back.
And so, with nothing to do, Ethar waited…He waited for a very long time, until he had lost track of time itself. The Namekians that were trapped with Ethar, told him that they were merely innocent people that were trapped here for years, and the spell had changed them physically to resemble their current demonic forms.
For 500 years, Ethar had nothing to do but wait and wait. Year after year, he used what he could against the pedestals in an attempt to break something to atleast weaken the spell, but to no avail.
But one year, he finally noticed that his sword glowed brighter and more intense as it was closer to the Pedestals. ”My sword? Why is it glowing? Is that the key?” He asked, as he looked around the small room to see if the other Namekians were around to watch, but couldn’t see them, as Ethar remembered the pool of water in the back of the cave. He knew his weapon could manipulate water, and decided to give it a try.
”Yes, It should work! Atleast, I hope so." He said, as he focused what energy he had into his sword. He saw the water from the back room flow in, and form several balls around him. As they grew in size, he could feel the energy around him starting to waver. ”Hrrrraaaa!” He yelled, as the orbs of water around him all moved to a pedestal, then they surrounded them, encasing each one in water. ”Tidal Sword Attack!” He yelled, as the water covered pedestals suddenly exploded in smoke and steam, causing the cave to shake violently.
After the steamed had settled, He saw that his attack did nothing to the pedestals. "Ah crap." He said, as he sat on the ground, and started to sigh again. "Will I ever escape from this cave. My mother must be worried sick..." He said, unaware that his words actually fell on a passing Namekian. "Hello? Someone there?" A voice said, causign Ethar to stand up in shock.
"In here! In the cave!" He said, as he saw what looked like a young Namekian child peer into the cave. "Ah! A Ghost! Porunga save us!" He said, as he turned to run, but Ethar moved up to the barrier, and quickly tried to calm him down. "Easy little green, You have to help me, I have been trapped here for 500 years after wandering into this cave. Please, You have to tell Elder Carnel Im trapped here!" He said, but the child looked at him confused. "Um...I dont know any Elder Carnel, but Ill tell the Elder that I do know that your here!" He said, as he took off running.
Ethar let out a sigh of relief that help was finally on the way. Atleast, He had hoped so, but what puzzled him the most, is that the child did not know Carnel. "Strange...I guess Ill find out when I get he hell out of here." He said, as he started to wait again.
It was a few days before Ethar heard more sounds outside. "In here Elder, I saw him in there." He heard the same Namekian again as he saw him again, and saw that an Elder was with him. "How did you end up in there? How long have you been in there?" the Elder asked, as Ethar replied "I came to this cave after feeling the energy from the statue, but I cant get out now. My sword resonates with the statue, but I cant do anything on my end to get out! As for how long I have been in here, I lost count after 20 years!"
When the Elder heard of this, he was even more shocked and surprised. To the Elder, Ethar looked like a normal human, but he could sense that Ethar wasnt a normal person, nor one of the Demonic clan. "Relax young man... I see that your weapon is indeed resonating with the spell in this cave, I might have a way out for you, but its not pretty." He said, but Ethar was willing to do damned near anything to get free of the dump he had to call home. "Right, What do I do then?"
The Elder shook his head, as he held his hands forward. "Just hold onto your sword, and Ill try to drag you and your belongings out in one piece." Ethar nodded with excitement, as he gripped the handle of his word tightly. He saw the Elders hands start to glow with energy that made his own sword glow more brightly as he started to feel a strong pull on his weapon that pulled him against the barrier. "I-Its not gonna work!" He said, but the Elder seemed to ignore him and concentrate harder. "Its....NNngh!" Ethar grunted, feeling more and more force pull him into the barrier until... His body phased into it! The Magical energy surged into his body, causing mild pain that was somewhat bearable, but it wouldnt last long.
He was still being pulled, but he felt his hands slip past the barrier, then finally, the rest of his body. And as soon as his body was free of the barrier, He saw his arms and hands become solid once more as the sudden gravity on his body made him stumble forward and land on his butt. "Ow!" He said, as he rubbed it for a moment before looking up to the Elder, and the young Namekian that saved him. He smiled softly, as he slowly got up to his feet. "Thank you....Both of you, I dont know how to thank you." He said, thanking the both of them, but before Ethar could turn to go somewhere, the Elder put his hand on Ethar's shoulder. "You were very fortunate that the spell upon that cave did not consume you, though from what I can see...Something did happen to you in there..." He said, as he gestured to the incomplete Statue of Ethar that was beside the Namekian Statue.
"I can see that, I feel a bit different, but not by much... What do you think happened?" He asked him, but both the Elder and the young Namekian were both puzzled. "I do not know, but I would advise you to take things slowly until you learn of what has transpired." He told Ethar, who nodded in agreement.
Ethar thanked the Elder for his help, and started to make his way out onto the Namek he used to know...500 years in the future. He was in for shocks and surprises wherever he went now. He was unaware of what happeed to him in the cave, but he still had his family Heirloom and his sanity, and that was all he needed to survive...for now...
