After the incident with the police up in the Frozen Tundra city she had come to see, the meeting with Ferdinand at the Bertchal Hotel, and her freedom from Earth's ki disruptor rings. Leta was beginning to wonder if her life on Earth would be worth living there or if returning to Kanassa was much better to do. Even though she had been told to lie low by Requies and the others she felt with her current appearance she could easily blend in with the people of the world she was in as long as she did not make a big ruckus.
Early in the morning she left Bartchel Hotel's sixteenth floor where she was holed up with the three men. She did not mind it, but being the only woman in the group she wanted some space. So she crossed the hallway in front of their still wearing her red blouse, black skinny jeans, and black sneakers. To people wandering around the hotel she looked like one of the newest childish adults that had come to inhabit Earth's new civilization, but this pink, long haired green eyed looking human was not human at all. This five foot tall one hundred seventeen pound woman was an alien and a very short one at that.
She pressed the button on an elevator door remembering back to her home world where she had seen devices like this that opened up and dropped down to lower areas. Kanassans had them in their cities where she had once gone to steal a necklace or two from the turtle aliens and had come back successful. She was glad the planet had no Kanassans as far as she could tell right now. Kanssans were bad news since they were city builders, progressives and liked to build cities over top of other cities in their home world. As she stepped into the elevator as it rang she punched the button for the first floor and descended down into the hotel's lobby.
She walked across its fine tiled flooring and soon came upon the front doors of the lobby. Pushing them open, she was going to enjoy a sunny, fresh aired filled day on Earth until right before her eyes a bipedal turtle creature, a Kanassan with a large, broken shell on its back appeared at the front door. Her left arm shook in rage as she raised it and asked the alien, "What are you doing here at the front door?"
The Kanassan muttered, "Taking revenge..." Leta's eyes wandered downwards and she could see a human with brown hair, foggy glasses, and a business suit stuck under its large foot.
Leta began to power up a red orb of ki in her hand and answered, "Let the man go," she waited for a few seconds, but the Kanassan shook his head no.
"This man broke my shell while I was on my vacation," the Kanassan whined as he pressed his foot down harder on the human's back. Leta was not going to take this kind of insolence so she fired a blast of ki directly at the turtloid. It hit the "turtledove" acting Kanassan in the face and sent him flying across the block into a concrete pillar. Leta looked around and could see that the streets and even the lobby of the hotel had been empty simply because of this guy showing up. Every human she had seen was ducked or hidden behind something or holding a phone getting ready to call someone.
"Oh boy..." she thought to herself, "I better fix this incident before we get chased around again."
She would saunter over to the man and say as she extended a hand to him, "You better get out of here. I may get very mad at this Kanassan I just assaulted." The man grabbed her hand and pulled himself up as he pushed up his glasses.
"Boy, you saved my life," as he looked into Leta's eyes with joy. "That Kanassan had a damaged shell before he got here but he wanted to rest in the hotel here. The problem was that I accidentally got him caught in the door so he pulled himself out of it along with me and has been threatening me the last five minutes.
Leta frowned and walked around the man as he headed towards where a group of humans were in the lobby. Nobody was about to cause trouble on a planet she was possibly going to call home. She walked over to the Kanassan who was stuck in the concrete pillar she had blasted him into, "Go find a doctor or emergency room. I hate your kind, but if you are really here on vacation you should pay better attention to your health." She was not about to cause a scene now just after they escaped the police and she knew Kanassans had powerful psychic powers and tough bodies so she pulled the Kanassan out and nodded to Leta vigorously. In his eyes she was simply just a powerful human, but he followed her commands and left the front area of the hotel and headed for the nearest hospital.
Once that was over she walked back across the street to the hotel and past parked vehicles and into the lobby. "Someone call the receptionist... I need some water please." Leta realized after this short encounter if one Kanassan could easily and freely travel to the planet perhaps more could as well. She hoped one day they would not send out ships to look for her, but for now she wanted to act as human as possible as she put her hands in her pockets, slouched slightly and headed for a glass circular table and a metal lawn chair to receive her order. After having resolved this incident the people in the lobby were not about to let her good deed go unnoticed. As she sat down at the table a receptionist came over and set a glass of cool water in front of her. She picked it up and drank it and the people in the lobby cheered. The start of a better day was about to come, especially when Leta noticed a few Zeni bills slipped underneath the glass she had just picked up. She smiled and realized good deeds did pay.
