Lykas steps into the ground, lifting the gauntlet on his right hand. It's become a familiar weight. He has always practiced with it and it's become a familiar tool in his chosen fighting stance. He glances at the Masters of the school as he hefts the modified Claymore in his left hand. He waited patiently, knowing that the agreement was sort of a bet. The masters always seemed to be interested in making small agreements and bets with him, but then again, it's because Lykas was a bit of a betting man.
Lykas was always was ready to fulfill his side of the bet, and sometimes did so anyways if it seemed like that big of a deal. Right now though, was not such a time. Lykas had been practicing creating his own fighting style, and the masters appear to disapprove of him giving time to practicing his new fighting style instead of the basics, as well as the other classes Lykas has been suffering in. Lykas mentally prepares himself for the fight ahead, eager, if not ecstatic at employing his fighting style and showing that even if it was unusual, it was beyond viable. Lykas continued to let himself reflect on the path that led him to this moment until he realized his focus was starting to drift, his stance was rather sloppy, and he tightened and fixed it in moments. He started to mentally clear his mind, allowing his energy to flow through his body in order to allow for his focus to remain centered and focused, even as he awaited his opponent to be announced and presented.
Suddenly another young man stepped onto the platform, a bejeweled hilt glinting in the sunlight as it rests in a fitted baldric against is back. Valiant Xenofor speaks aloud, saying, " Ah, there you are Yokar. It is time to start the spar, remember, your goal is to disarm, disable, or knock your opponent out of the ring, you are to use non-lethal strikes only and to kill your opponent is to face expulsion from the school. On your marks...get ready...FIGHT!"

Lykas takes up a defensive stance at first as Yokar draws his sword and takes an aggressive stance as well. Lykas knew the intent here was to try and rig the fight a bit in their favor, since he recognized Yokar as one of the older students. Lykas patiently bides his time though, preferring to analyze Yokar's movements. Yokar surges forwards without hesitation though, and Lykas barely manages to side-step Yokar's inital strike, taking a cut to the right arm. Yokar proceeds to turn the strike towards Lykas, turning his thrust into a slightly weakened slash, only for Lykas to extend the open-palm of his gauntlet-covered hand to grab the blade, wincing as the metal bites into the chitin covering his palm audibly. He proceeds to try and wrench away the strike and throw Yokar off balance.
Yokar responded to the push by swinging around the other way with his elbow, striking Lykas right in the chin unexpectedly, throwing Lykas off balance momentarily while he uses the momentum from Lykas' shove to bring the blade back around to try and strike Lykas on the right arm. Lykas barely managed to lower his blade to meet Yokar's, locking the weapons starting to shove against each other. Lykas twists the weapons around a bit before bringing them between Yokar and himself, knowing that Yokar is putting all his strength and focus on trying to knock Lykas' weapon away from the lock and throwing Lykas off balance.
Lykas responds by balling his gauntlet-covered hand into a fist and using a small burst of Ki to strike Yokar right between the eyes in an attempt to end the fight, only managing to surprise Yokar and knock him back unfortunately. Lykas huffs and puffs a little, starting to feel the strain of an actual fight on his hands with his unusual style. He stares down Yokar as he decides to take a gamble himself and go on the offensive.
Lykas lunges forwards weapon first in an attempt to make Yokar lift his own sword up. Yokar instead begins to attack himself with a swing from the left side. Lykas responds to this attack by lowering his blade to block it and carrying through with the force of his original attack, bolstering what little Ki energy he has into his fist, punching Yokar in the chest as hard as he can. Yokar is thrown backwards from the ring onto the grass, nearly bowling into several students who had gathered to watch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lykas huffs and puffs even harder now, not having very much training with his Ki he winds up dropping to his knees, huffing and puffing, trying to gather what strength he has left. He closes his eyes after a moment before falling from the kneeling position onto his back-side, crossing his legs into a meditation position and laying his claymore across his lap in order to try and re-balance and rest himself somewhat from the strain of the chosen attacks.
okunaru Tsukishiro shouts, " And it seems we have a winner! Lykas here has earned the right to continu-..what is that?" A student had rushed up and was whispering in Tsukishiro's ear before the man's face darkens slightly. He turns and says, " It appears that Lykas' final blow not only knocked Yokar out of the ring, but stopped his heart, almost instantly killing him. We are afraid that while Lykas has won, he is expelled from the school, and his things will be moved to a shed on the grounds, where he may stay until he is of age to leave. While he is within that shed, he will perform his original duties, and will be allowed to practice and train in his arts, but will not be permitted to attend classes."
