Ikezu’s training had scarred the Saiyan Desert, but the desert was used to this abuse; having been used for so many millennia for this kind of training.
With his current power level, Ikezu was more than three times more powerful than the most power warrior from his home planet. He had even managed to match the power level of the legendary Byakko of lore; a revered warrior who learned to release his power in an unnatural way and erupt in a pure white flame which matched the power of a feral warrior chief with ease. The technique he developed became known as the White Tiger’s Flame. A blazing aura which when harnessed could be used to release attacks that could wipe out entire cities, and change the face of the world. If Ikezu was to have any chance at defeating his enemies, he would have to learn to release this power. If even at a fraction of Byakko’s original technique.
From what Ikezu could remember from the stories, the technique was a simple power-up type move. It was easy enough to do, but difficult to control without going feral. Ikezu couldn’t do the technique while feral, because the power increase was simply too great, and the drain would increase to such drastic levels, that he would only be able to use the technique in order to charge the attacks that required it. Even then, he would only be able to do so once before reverting back to his original form.
Ikezu stood on the top of a plateau, placed his hands to his side in a horse riding stance, and began charging his energy. His energy rose and rose, but no flame. Soon he had reached the boundary between his standard form and his feral form, and retreated.
“Damn it, that’s not it. Besides it’s taking too long! Byakko was able to release his flame in seconds not minutes. What did the legend say, he released his energy in unnatural ways. Maybe he didn’t charge it, but allowed it to escape? Let’s try that.”
Again Ikezu charged up, but this time when he had overrun his standard power level and had a good supply he released the power from his body. A small flame sparked from his fur but immediately dissipated. It was closer, and on the right track, but no cigar.
“Ok, that’s the right concept, but there’s probably a precise measure of power that he released. Obviously the more power I charge the greater the flame. Though, I’m afraid that if I charge too much I won’t be able to control it, which will result in me becoming feral, or the flame dying all together. Let’s try to find a balance.”
Ikezu charged up again, this time charging up to twice his normal level and releasing the technique. The fire erupted but died immediately. He tried once again, but this time after he released the flame he kept feeding it ki. The flame sustained itself, but wasn’t at all at the level that Ikezu needed it.
“Ok that’s too little. I’ll charge up to my limit and try that, and work my way back if it doesn’t work.”
Ikezu charged up to the point where he was about to transform and released the flame. The fire erupted, but even though Ikezu was feeding it Ki it was too powerful to control and quickly dissipated leaving Ikezu in a bad position. Ikezu tried half way between x2 and x4 his normal, around x3. This time the flame was powerful, but not too powerful. The drain also wasn’t too great to wear Ikezu out too quickly. He had done it, but the flame was difficult to control. It raged across Ikezu’s body sizzling at his fur. With some focus and practice Ikezu was able to protect himself from his own technique. Ikezu released it and went through the same practice 4 more times, getting faster and faster with each try. By the fourth time he had the measurement so precise that he could release the flame now within 2 seconds. One second to charge and the second to release and control.
“That’s it, the white tiger flame! Now I need to harness it into its most basic offensive technique, the white tiger blast.”
