The battle with the demon had been a brief thing, but in the short time for the fight to reach climax, Rensou Hiruen had to employ the whole of his fighting ability to hold up to the impressive pace of the demon. His barricading defenses had been utterly without mistake, his crippling offense had made Dao pay for each and every mishap he committed and in the end both fighters had been locked together, clutching one another. The Tsurunoha was poised to strike the winning blow, but if the Makaioshin managed to push through that strike, it was uncertain to Rensou if he would have been capable of racing onward to victory after he had sprinted such a distance, metaphorically. There was still much to learn, the Saiyan decided. Thus, he had left he relative safe-haven of Saru to engorge his might into improvement once again in the beautiful but ever chaotic rainforests.
Upon a great limb he crouched, his chin resting in a palm poised upon his knee as those coal, bestial eyes spectated as the trio of Vegetan Raptors rested boredly after feasting upon an unlucky mammal, one that had been tall and wide. The quadruped was encased in shielding furs of auburn that had proved difficult for the reptilian fang to penetrate, but once they had the thing clenched three-fold by the throat it mattered not if they drew blood. The furred beast had lashed from side to side in retaliation with a great snout proudly carrying a horn that sought the skies in a length of at least a meter, but it was unable to penetrate the nimble predators slowly choking the life from it. In the end, the raptors had won the day and now slept lazily with full belly amongst strewn bone and streaked themselves with red. The blood and bone were all that was left of a once great opponent.
Rensou knew very well what had penned the final chapter of the beast's wondrous life, it was the very thing that had nearly lost him the fight against the demon, Dao Midnight. Speed. The reptiles were nothing but, for what they lacked in power they made up in movement to seek the most vital point of the beast. When they had failed to bleed it weaker with puncturing canine and lacerating claw, they had sought the most dangerous point to approach the creature, the neck. That neck was the pathway for the animal's oxygen, but also dangerously close to that great and thrashing horn. Once upon the neck, the dinosaurs had worked as a team, one distracting the lengthy spear before the mammal's eyes and evading each and every one of his swipes. All the while, the others had crushed the esophagus. Soon, the prey could swipe and stab no longer and the decoy raptor joined in the asphyxiation.
Speed kills. . .
Rensou glanced down to his wrists, the wrapped bangles about them were locked in place. He had grown so used to their weight that they had become a part of his being, as well as the two other devices about his ankles. Rensou Hiruen was much too fast for this trio of beasts without the weighty burden, but with them they would certainly prove a test for his movement and wit. Such ingenious creations, those bangles of electrical working and hydraulics that intensified the pull of gravity upon the wearer up to one hundred and seventy five percent! A press of his finger checked the things, and Saiyan numerals flashed across the screen as the things relayed the settings to their owner. <i>Increase : 175% || Weight : 332 pounds. Rensou grinned as his eyes lifted back to the sleeping creatures below him before he dropped from the canopy into the clearing with those leather hided wolves.
“I'm ready for my lesson! Rensou roared, on the outskirts of the meadow as the trio of reptiles were instantly upon their hind legs. They stood at eye level with the Saiyan, and twice that from tip to tail, outweighed him by several times even with those bangles! These creatures were true fighters when pushed to it, but two bounded away into the thick forest beyond the meadow. One remained, gnashing his fangs together with audible clicks before it shrieked, the vocals adjusting to adjust the shriek to a low growl. Like phantoms, the partners materialized from the thicket. The alpha had identified this Saiyan weaponless, and with the average power level of the race in this current day and age they proved to be easy prey. The raptors were notorious for snatching children who strayed to far into the woods, for ripping apart and devouring the unprepared hunter. What the Alpha had identified was an adult, corded with muscle, delicious protein! Rensou held none of the things that made thunder and struck raptor down and dead, and he was instantly recognized as prey.
In an instant the lead raptor charged him, the elongated snout lashing out at Rensou with deadly rows of fangs. The two subordinates began to close the distance, but for now the Alpha was the ultimate concern. Nimbly the Saiyan bounded sideways and the thing's teeth bit only air, but he now had one of the subordinates to deal with. Whirling in the midst of his jump, the warrior extended both gloved hands before clamping the open mouth shut, one poised to receive his succulent flesh marbled with fats and dripping with blood. His bones plentiful with marrow, oh, Rensou Hiruen would make a marvelous meal indeed.
With arms busied with closing the mouth of the second subordinate, legs and hips sought to hold the current distance between he and it in effort to prevent slicing kicks in legs. The second subordinate was coming, and the Alpha was already poising itself for another stroke that might slice Rensou apart and drop his entrails to the lush grasses of the meadow. Rensou shoved himself free of the animal in his grasp, lifting his legs to allow his body to land a grand distance away, in the very center of the meadow. Shocks of dark hairs waved this way and that as he noted the positioning of each poised predator in relation to himself.
Perfect. From where he stood in the center of the green clearing, the pride of raptor had him surrounded. Rensou Hiruen had come to this clearing to learn something, and had lowered his power so that the beasts would be capable of pushing him to the limit. In his training, Rensou had always performed at his best with the situation necessitated everything he had within his arsenal. Never had he conceivably practiced the execution of a new technique, the situations he constantly placed himself in were always enough to enable him instant proficiency in whatever he chose to add to his array of weapons. The beasts had him cornered.
The last Hiruen knew well their intelligence, and the trio purred and growled in communication as at once the collective mind of the pack decided the two subordinates would subdue the prey whilst the alpha readied the killing stroke. They came. Rensou tensed. With the trio enclosing upon him from three angles, dodging one would lead him into the gaping maw of another, so he braced his legs as the two smaller raptor caught him from the sides, their jaws clenched against the armors he was never without. The teeth ripped through the armor, but it held. . .still, Rensou felt the sting of fang into his flesh. They were the most miniscule of penetrations, and he would survive these wounds.
The time to Zanzoken had arrived![/b]
The alpha was lunging inward, adjusting a powerful body to life a muscular hing leg in an effort to rake that razor sharp and deadly long single talon into and across the inviting of Rensou Hiruen. The nail would never find the neck. Energies focusing, Rensou Hiruen let his energies settle and accumulate within, his mind already prepared to apply his hypothesis. The stimulus was already presented, now it was time to put his fighting mind to the test! Those swelling energies reached their boiling point and he released them in the fatal instant where the claw would spill the contents of his vein.
It tore through the throat as strangely the two subordinates crumpled to the ground, their heads at grotesque angles where necks had snapped as if from nothing. In the fatal instant necessary ki was charged, and the former gladiator champion had surged backwards in such a grandiose display of Bukujutsu that it could only be described as a Zanzoken. With the backwards motion, settled teeth had dragged the heads of those that held Rensou with such ferocity he had broken their necks, and the Alpha stared with confusion as she lashed out again at the afterimage, before it faded into nothing. At the notice of her two dead comrades, she turned tail and fled. It seemed Rensou Hiruen was a predator, not prey.
The notion was affirmed as with a few kicks of his feet the Saiyan pushed enough brush together to start a small fire with a heated burst of enery, and in this place he rested for a few hours. . .triumphant in his newfound technique and feasting on barely cooked flesh, blood dribbling down his chin and painted shredded white armors red with his spoils.
[PL please, and the Zanzoken if I've done enough to earn it! Weighted clothing worn.]
