Bassoon sighed as he sat on the bed, it was good to have finally stopped walking, he had reached this village not long after, and been offered a vacant home in which to use whilst he rested, provided he would help tend to the fields before leaving.
not wanting to slack off completely, he had opted to meditate rather than outright relax or sleep, telling himself there would always be time for that later. the soothing cool of the house was a pleasant change from namek's three suns heat perpetualy on his back, part of his want for travel was so that he could experience "night" on other planets, but that was still very distant, like a mirage upon the horizon.
shaking his head as if to cast any remaining conscious thought from his mind like drops of water from his face began, first he projected the image of darkness into his mind....then nameks great green oceans rose from its inky abyss, then from the waters he visualized the land rising in great brown pillars of rock from the ocean, and upon there surface grass rappidly spiraling out from the center, then himself, sat upon the island very much as he was sat now, powering up, the very landscape of his created world warping and fluxuating around his aura. like metal warping in intense heat.
bassoon had not thought about his battle with his replacement till then, now in his quiet world he relived it over and over, watching, analyzing and tweaking his style and techniques, noting that he left his abdomen pretty open during the whole ordeal, which is student had not hesitated to use against him at every opportunity, he began re-visualizing his stance and techniques to better cover this weak point. turning his ready stance so he stood side on, and tilted to as to interpoise his shoulder between his chest and his opponent, to dart back and forth, quickly changing the ranges of engagement rather than standing stotic and attempting to out endure his foe.
changes her felt were long overdue, he was slightly horrified that he could have been so easily crushed by a foe of equal strength, his style being better suited to dealing with weaker foes one at a time. whilst that was all well and good for dealing with wild animals. but had a sufficently powerful raider come he would have been quickly overwhelmed and left his charges defenseless.
that was, by any namekians standards, unacceptable, he resolved to adapt his fighting style to one better suited for fighting foes who may very well be stronger than him.
