On Kold, thieves are dealt with harshly. Everything that someone owns is instrumental and vital in their lives, and to take something so important to them is almost as bad as defecting from Suki's army. Aquanus chooses to view such public executions from time to time, and sometimes even using some favors to liven up the entertainment from time to time.
As the alien captive, a strong Arlian, approached the headman's block, Aquanus called out from the crowd of screaming onlookers.
"Sir, please refrain from killing this individual. I have better plans for him," Aquanus said, bowing to the would-be executioner. Although he is acting polite and sophisticated, everyone present knew what he was really capable of.
The Arlian stumbled awkwardly past the block, and walked toward the Icer carefully. Moving cautiously, he walked in front of the Icer, and was easily a good 2 feet taller than him. However, he was visibly scared.
"Sir... why did you call me out? I'm no different-" he started.
"Enough. Today, you will prove to me how powerful you are. Everyone, get behind me. Your going to see a spectacle. Now, Arlian. I'm going to throw 3 slashes of energy at you. If you can dodge all three and are still breathing, you're free to go, alright?" He smirked, and looked at the Arlian, expecting an answer
"Uh... Sure, my liege. But I'm not sure if I understand why you're giv-"
He was cut off short by a ray of orange that shot towards him, rather slow. He raised his eyes in surprise, and angled himself to the left, just in time to dodge the blow. The crowd roared, and were ready for more. He breathed a sigh of relief, but it was stopped short as another, faster slash moved at him.
He jumped, as it was aimed low at him, but he jumped to late. One of his legs was raised slightly above the other, and as a result, his right leg was cleanly sliced off. The crowd quieted down.
There was no blood. Icers were above such barbaric things.
The Arlian yelled in acute pain, and slumped over, begging and pleading for mercy in his own language.
Aquanus stood over the prisoner's body, and tsk'd.
"Poor, poor fellow. He almost made it too, Aquanus said. His hand lit up a fiery orange. He grinned, and shot it across the prisoners' body, and the gibberish pain induced begging stopped.
Aquanus turned behind him and faced the shocked audience. He spoke calmly and clearly. "Ladies and gentlemen. What you have seen here today is the punishment for stealing. Now, while I won't personally attend every execution, be wary, and know that I am on this planet, and I may not be as far away as you think."
He smiled, and walked back towards his palace.
(Zeni, please)
