At the age of 20 Tenshu had taken over for his father as the medic for the village. This was not unexpected as Tenshu had caught on quickly to the medical training that he was provided, and was now without a doubt one of the greatest healers on the planet. A feat not often performed by someone under the age of 50.
This did not however make Tenshu any different of a person, he was still humble to the village elders, and was still friendly to the local children. As a matter of fact just last week he gave up his entire day off to play with a younger namekian whose friends had abandoned him, ultimately getting his friends back, and making the child feel much better.
He didnt do these things to be heroic, nor did he do them for the fame it did provide. No Tenshu did this because its how he was raised. His father was an honest man, one who dealt often with the other people in town, and it was not uncommon for him to bring tenshu along when he would go to foreign village embassies, as a matter of fact in his later years, Tenshu was in charge of the actual speak, as his father had begun to lose his voice in his old age.
One time in particular really set Tenshu out from the other Nameks. It was yet another blistering hot day, and Tenshu with the help of his father had made the merciless journey through the lands out to the village they had hoped to commence trade with. This was something that had never occurred between the two tribes because frankly Tenshu's tribe was poor and under funded, this meant that it had nothing of value to trade. It was up to Tenshu to convince this larger village to trade with their small insignificant tribe.
The deal would be discussed that evening at a large banquet, The banquet was not for Tenshu's arrival, but rather coincidentally for a celebration they had planned months before, it was the anniversary of the night that this village conquered a rival tribe, it had been an entire year since that glorious victory, and the tribe was very hyped, to the point where Tenshu's arrival was overshadowed by the celebration.
Tenshu made camp outside of the city, setting up his tent just a half mile away, it was similar to his tent at home, small, damp, and dark. Just the way he had been raised. After setting up the makeshift disaster waiting to happen, Tenshu went into town, hoping for the best. He was greeted by the namekians present, and eventually made his way to the tribes elder, a younger elder only 45 years in age. It bothered Tenshu that the man was drinking, as Elders were said to be clean of spirit and body, however this man seemed to be neither. He was treating his warriors like servants having them serve him fine wines and food, and to make matter worse, Tenshu knew of many tribals who were not eating this night because they were not as wealthy. Tenshu finally understood what this tribe was, it was a hierarchy of its own, the person in charge was wealthy, as were his friends and family, and yet the rest of his tribe suffered in squallier, fighting for a meager piece of bread to call their own.
This enraged Tenshu, and when the time came to speak with the Elder Tenshu had more than a proposal for him.
Sitting down in the lavishing seat, Tenshu found himself disgusted by the gluttonous mounds of food placed before him, while he appreciated the gesture, he waved the servant off, not wanted to accept the gift, knowing of the namekians who hungered outside.
The elder continued to laugh and dance to the music before finally wearing himself out, and taking a seat next to Tenshu, still laughing at something that no one seemed to understand. However after a few moments of this clearly ackward laughter, Tenshu spoke up to the Elder.
"Elder, I come to you as an envoy for my village, you see we are a small, but thriving community, and with the help of villages like yourself we can..."
Tenshu was interrupted by the Elder namekian who had begun laughing again this time louder than before. He finally stopped and took yet another drink of his wine, which he clearly had drank quite enough of, and then spoke to Tenshu as though he were an ignorant child.
"No no no, we are not trading with you boy, Haha no, we are Annexing you, we want your tribe to become one with ours, seeing as we are doing so much better than you, we figured it would be easier just to annex you rather than cause a big fuss, so go on home and let your elder know we are in charge now"
With that Tenshu lost his temper, for the first, and what appeared to be only time in his short life Tenshu erupted into what can only be described as pure anger.
"Elder! I must insist that you control yourself and stop this drinking if we are to continue speaking"
Tenshu said this loud enough that the band stopped playing, in addition to that the entire hall was looking at the two now, frightened by the namekians words, as no one had stood up to the elder in some time.
'Excuse me!?'
The elder replied clearly offended by the young mans blatant disrespect for his elders. However Tenshu would not repeat himself and instead continued his rant.
"You sit here and drink yourself to sleep, while your tribesmen starve out in the blistering heat of the sun, You stay here with your noble warriors, and treat them like dogs, and you have the nerve to tell me, that my tribe his less than yours, well let me inform you sir of what makes a tribe, its elder, and your tribe is clearly inferior because of it!"
With that Tenshu left the tent, storming out of the flap only to turn his head back oncemore and yell out
''You should be ashamed of yourself Elder!"
Tenshu went to his tent that evening and stewed for a few hours, unable to bring himself to sleep he instead chose to meditate for a few hours, clearing his mind and bringing himself to peace with the world.
This would leave him wide awake to witness what would happen next, as during the night, a tribe of thought to be dead namekians made camp nearby Tenshu's tent, they had come to exact revenge on the Tribe whom had defeated them only a year earlier on this very eve.
Tenshu noticed this and without hesitation returned into the village as quickly as he could, make his way to the center of town and then to the tent flap where the elder was located, however before he could go inside he was intercepted by the guards standing watch
'Im sorry sir, we cannot let you go in this time, you have caused quite a stir around here.'
Tenshu looked at them both and then did the only thing he felt in his good conscience would work, he reached into his burlap sack and pulled out two small berries saying
"You are right, my behavior was unacceptable, i came to offer these to the elder, here you can try some to, its my way of apologizing."
The guards, happy to be getting real food to eat took the berries to test them out, and immediately lit up.
'Wow kid these are pretty good...hey can we have a few more'
Tenshu smiled and happily provided the two guards with more of the small berries until finally tenshu's plan went into action, the two guards had drifted asleep. The berries Tenshu had given them were the primary component in a sleeping potion that Tenshu made with Namekians with insomnia, the guards would wake up roughly 30 minutes later, and this gave tenshu time to run in and find the Elder, whom was sleeping peacefully in his lavished bed.
Tenshu yelled out
"ELDER"
Causing the man to practically leap out of bed, and onto the cold hard floor.
'What...You again...Guards!'
Tenshu opened the flap to show his guards thoroughly incapacitated and then spoke again, this time with a more urgent tone.
"Elder, there is a tribe prepared to burn your settlement to the ground, they are making final preparations now, you need to prepare your men for battle!"
The elder looked at him puzzled for a moment and then laughed saying the obvious
'Why should i believe you!'
As if on cue, a smoke bomb went off in the village, the attack had begun. Tenshu pulled the Elders bed out to the center of the tent, and beckoned to him
"You go get your guard ready, send all injured and non combatants here including your shaman."
The elder looked down, as if ashamed of himself and thats when tenshu realized that the man had no shaman, he had abandoned most Namekian principals, using his warriors as servants, and deserting his shaman.
"Just....go help defend"
With that the elder left, and one by one injured men staggered into the tent. Tenshu had perfected his healing and as they shuffled in began healing them one by one. For minor injuries he gave the Bitter roots in order to numb the pain while he fixed the more serious injuries, for the others he would simply focus his Ki and emit a small green light, this light did heal all those in need of it, and as they continued to pour in, they did also pour out as Tenshu healed them, and sent them back to battle.
After several hours the fighting ceased, and Tenshu had healed everyone in town....everyone that is, except for the elder, who was carried in on a stretcher after the fighting ceased. Tenshu began procedure however found that the Elders heart had been injured badly, so badly that healing was not possible, he was near death. And he spoke to Tenshu for the first time like a namekian of equal standing.
''you.....saved my village, and for that....I owe you my life....I am sorry that i acted in such a way, that i let fame and power rush to my head....you....you deserve this power...not me."
With that the elder grabbed Tenshu's hand, placing it on his profusely bleeding chest and said with tears in his eyes.
"Goodbye all of you...Follow this man...to your new home"
With that the Namekian used his last bit of strength, to enfuse his body with Tenshu, giving him what little power he had, as a way of offering forgiveness of his sin.
Tenshu was honored by the power that was bestowed upon him, and immediately gathered all the supplies he could from the burning village, and relocated everyone back to his tribe. He had saved many lives, and even saved the soul of a particular elder.
This did not go unnoticed, his heroics had been analyzed thoroughly, and now they felt the time was right....it was time for Tenshu...to join the GG.
