Ryota cracked his neck as he took a few moments to sense for any significant power's, thankfully luck seemed to be on his side as he'd chosen a place far-off enough from civilization that nobody seemed to be venturing out here thus giving him the privacy he needed for his work. Ideally he'd have preferred to do any technique training inside the Galleon where he knew he wouldn't be bothered but considering the nature of what he was working on he didn't exactly want to work on it in the only recently repaired Galleon.
Running a hand across his eye patch Ryota sighed, he'd spent a number of years perfecting his ability to suppress the power that that eye held and it was only with the captains help that he'd finally done so 'perfectly' unfortunately over the years the process had become a bit TOO perfect, and thus one of his most potentially dangerous abilities was all but as locked away as his 'other half'. The 'Eye of the Storm' as his Captain had dubbed the ability was a rather dangerous technique which was why Ryota had taken the pains to suppress it but considering all the growth he'd gone through Ryota was willing to give controlling the storm a try.
The technique itself was more akin to a 'transformation' than anything else, it provided Ryota with all of the physical might that he had when he activated his Demonic Aura but cut him off almost completely from his Ki, in the place of his ability to use Ki. The reason for this was that once the technique was activated his Ki would effectively separate itself from his body and take the form of a massive storm above head, the rain and lightning brought with the storm were constructs created by his Ki, the rain allowed Ryota to 'sense' anyone that it touched granting a large amount of battlefield awareness, and then there was the lightning, in the past it has simply struck randomly as per a true lightning storm but once Ryota actually had a level of control over the ability he'd be able to direct it allowing for some level of ranged combat within his no-Ki transformation.
The other advantage of the technique was the speed that it provided, what little Ki remained within Ryota's body was still effectively 'locked off' as for the duration of the technique it would provide Ryota with a massive increase in his speed. However aside from the lack of normal Ki-use the biggest detriment to the technique was that it was pretty much a 'all or nothing' sort of technique, once the technique was deactivated Ryota would be all but useless in a fight as the effects of the technique would leave him completely drained, the very reason why Ryota had needed to lock the technique away in the first place, without the ability to control when it activated Ryota's life had simply been far to hectic especially without being able to control the lightning.
Which also put a damper on actually 'training' with the technique to advance it beyond what Ryota knew it could do. Overall there was a pretty fair chance that the technique would simply be more work than it was worth but Ryota just couldn't help but try. With a sigh Ryota sat took a seat on a nearby tree stump folding his legs into a meditative position. In order to even activate the technique he would need to go within his own mind and remove the block's that he and the Captain had erected to keep the technique at bay. Taking a few deep breaths Ryota closed his eyes and let his mind and Ki do the rest.
Ryota opened his eyes to find himself in a dark room similar to the room that had been his before he'd become Captain of the galleon. Ryota chuckled as he looked around at the mental construct of his old room, the captain had specifically chosen the smallest room on the ship for him as a prank. Ryota hadn't even realized that at first which had only served to further amuse the Captain. Shaking his head Ryota walked over to the exit and when he walked through found himself in a long hall with numerous doors and passages.
"Really...? Ugh great my mind WOULD be set up just to piss me off." Ryota said with a groan as he took a few steps down the hall and noted that not a single door was marked in any specific way thus meaning that ANY of them could lead to where he needed to go. "I suppose it's good that I'm doing this NOW and not when I've got a few hundred more years on me to add to the chaos here." Ryota said as he stopped walking having finally found a door that was QUITE different from the others. However he was reasonably certain that this was NOT what he was looking for. The door was a dark red as opposed to the others which were all some shade of dark blue, across the door were chairs, locks, and the closer he moved to the door the more he could feel a dark presence. Frowning to himself Ryota continued on past the door not wanting to fall into the temptation of trying to face that was beyond it.
After what felt like an hour of walking trying to find another 'locked' door Ryota let out a growl of frustration and simply opened the closest door. On the other side Ryota was surprised to find a tall man, easily nine feet tall if not a bit more, he wore clothing similar to Ryota albeit colored using dark greens and blacks as opposed to Ryota's Red. Ryota all but froze as he stared at the man. "Captain..?" He 'asked', the image was right but it just didn't make any sense, why would the Captain be inside his mind. "Not exactly Ryota." The large man said as he lumbered over to Ryota placing a massive hand on the Makaioshin's shoulder. "Just your memories of him." The man said as he exited the 'room' somehow managing to fit through the doorway despite his size. "Ah, yeah I guess that makes sense." Ryota said with a shrug, it did not in fact make much sense to him but he wasn't exactly about to argue with apart of himself.
"Yeah, arguing with yourself ain't exactly a sane thing to do kid." The large man said with a chuckle causing Ryota to groan as he realized that his thoughts would not be private since this WAS his mind. "Who's ever accused us of being sane though." Ryota said with a shrug. "Any chance you know where we locked up the Eye of the Storm?" Ryota asked, his rational for even asking being that if this was his memories of the captain then perhaps 'He' would have a better chance of remembering since he WAS those memories. "Yup." The Captain said as he set off down the hall without giving and further explanation. "There's no chance i can 'remember' you being less of a cryptic asshole is there?" Ryota asked despite already knowing the answer. "Not a chance kid." the large makaioshin said as he let out a deep laugh that echoed throughout the entirety of the mind scape.
After what seemed like a long while of walking forward Ryota and The Captain found themselves in a large empty area. Ryota looked around getting an odd feeling from the situation. "So, whats the deal, I don't exactly feel like playing cryptic mind-games with my own memories, I it's great to sort-of see you again but I don't exactly like the fact that I'm currently all but defenseless right now 'outside'" Ryota said hoping to get a non-cryptic response from the memory. "Heh alright 'Yota, there isn't REALLY a specific place where the Eye was locked. As cliche as it is I'M the lock." he said earning groan from Ryota. "So I finally get a chance to kick your ass?" Ryota asked with a grin as he drew is sword.
"We'll see about that, I don't believe you ever actually beam me while I was alive." The large man said earning a scowl from Ryota as he drew his own sword, a very large and ornate scimitar. "Alright then.. lets do this." Ryota said and with that he wasted no time in cutting open a rift and bolting through it bringing him right behind the large man, Ryota began a quick assault targeting a number of slashes at the Captain's legs hoping to hobble the massive man's movement. However the Captain being well acquainted with Ryota's tactics quickly turned to defend himself protecting himself from all but two of Ryota's cuts and even those were little more than shallow blows that would do little to really effect him.
Chuckling the Captain came at Ryota with all the speed and power he could muster bringing his massive Scimitar down upon Ryota with speed an accuracy not particularly common for someone wielding a weapon of that size, Ryota however managed to bring his own blade up just in time to block each of the strikes and even managed to push the Captain back on his final attack and used that to slip under his guard to deliver a series of quick cuts to the man's chest earning a howl of pain from the large man. "Arg, good to see I don't need to tell you that this is a 'till the death' fight." The Captain said with a smirk as he summoned forth an orb of dark green energy.
Ryota instantly knew what the Captain was up to as he'd faced that technique a number of times before and had no intention of letting it go off properly. "ARC SLICE!" Ryota shouted releasing a blunted arc slice aimed for the large man's chest. Ryota was quite surprised to see the look of confusion pass over the large man's face when he called the name of his attack. "NIGHTSHADE" He called out just as the wave of energy impacted his chest sending him skidding backwards. The dark green orb twisted and contorted shaping itself into a ghostly figure with long dagger-like clawed hands on its long twiggy-arms. "That's... new" The captain said with a chuckle as he recovered from the technique. "So you don't know my new tricks eh? That's good to know." Ryota said with a smirk before needing to raise his blade in defense as the 'Nightshade' came at his taking almost random swipes at him. "Stupid fuckin' ghost, I hate this damn thing." Ryota said with a growl as all of his attempts to counter the creature were thwarted by it's quick reflexes and superior reach.
The Captain watched in amusement as Ryota battled the Nightshade, taking a moment to catch his breath the elder Makaioshin swung his blade empowering it with energy in a similar manner to Ryota however the energy remained encased around the blade making the already quite large blade even larger. "Ohhh no, I'm not doing 2 on 1... MAKAIOKEN" Ryota shouted as his aura explored around him sending the Nightshade twirling, taking advantage of the creatures momentary daze Ryota charged it and with three quick slices ripped it to shreds. "Oh, is it serious time then?" The captain said with a smirk. "Eeyup" Was Ryota's only response as he charged the captain trying to catch him off guard with the Makaioken's great speed.
Ryota managed a few quick hits on the Captain's arms and chest but when he went in for a 'final hit' of sorts the Captain managed to cross blades With Ryota and as he did so the Captain's aura began to flare up around him. "Hope you didn't forget who taught you the Makaioken Ryota." He said as his own Makaioken activated allowing the larger man to begin to overpower Ryota through sheer brute force. Ryota quickly realized that this battle of strength was most definitely not one he was winning and with a quick push Ryota managed to roll away from the Captain causing him to bring his sword down on the ground. Seeing an opening due to the Captain's sword being momentarily stick Ryota charged once again however this time he wasn't going to try and cut the captain, Ryota charged and drop kicked the Captain's arm causing him to release his grip on his blade thus dispersing the Ki that coated it.
Ryota followed this up by first leaping back to his feat and then delivering a series of quick slices and kicks to the larger man's chest pushing him back as it was one of the few options he had for avoiding the blade. "Hah, you really have improved Ryota I can't quite speak for the 'real' me since I'm just what you remember, but I've gotta say he's probably proud you've grown this much." He said as he dropped out of a fighting stance. "I think that's probably enough." He said earning a confused look from Ryota. "But. I didn't win, we've barely even started." Ryota said feeling rather frustrated that the fight was ending so early. "Quit yer whining. You've proven you're more than good enough to use the Eye if you think your ready." He said as he pulled a small chest out from one of his pockets and tossed it to Ryota.
"Uhh...?" Ryota looked a the box rather skeptically not exactly trusting the chest to actually unlock the Eye. "Just open it you pansy." The captain said with a chuckle seeing Ryota's hesitation. "Yeah because hearing THAT hasn't lead to anything terrible happening." Ryota said with a sigh before simply opening the box. With a almost blinding flash of light Ryota was removed from his own mind scape sent 'back' out of his meditation. Ryota awoke with a groan as he felt like every muscle in his body was aching as if he really had fought the Captain. Then he felt it, the vaguely familiar power seeping from his eye thankfully however the Eye of the Storm remained inactive due to the 'Eye' needing to be exposed in order to actually activate.

Technique Details
"The Eye of the Storm"
When activated the sky almost immediately becomes a raging storm including as one would expect rain, thunder, and lightning. This storm is a construct of Ryota's Ki, when a drop of rain makes contact with a living creature Ryota is immediately aware of there presence giving him a large range of battlefield awareness.
In addition to this every three posts Ryota can call down a powerful bolt of lightning to strike an opponent, it is difficult but not impossible to dodge this attack.
While the EotS is active Ryota has the physical power of his maximum power level with the exception that he is significantly faster than he would normally be.
However while the Eye of the Storm is active Ryota cannot use ANY conventional KI-Techniques including Ki-Based Flight, in addition to this once the Eye of the Storm is deactivated Ryota is left almost completely without power, with the 'best' possibility being that he could possibly drag himself off of the battlefield.]
